Birthday Cupcakes

Been using my vegan cupcake book lately. 3 different kinds of cupcakes to update. One got eaten really quick so there's only one.

The kinds of cupcakes I have to share with you are:

Basic Golden Cupcake with Orange Buttercream Frosting.

Cookies and Cream Cupcakes.

Mint Cupcakes.

Now my Orange Buttercream Frosting did not turn out well as I did not cream the shortening and margarine well enough. Lesson learned on the cookies and cream frosting but it tasted too buttery to me. Everyone else enjoyed the frosting, I am just picky.

Mint Cupcakes with Chocolate Ganache were made and eaten. Haha! Don't worry! I got pictures, AND I found out what I did wrong with my Buttercream Frosting. Creaming was part of it but the fact that I used rice milk instead of soy made a big difference!

Tonight (the 23rd) I made Chocolate Orange cupcakes and Marbled Pink Vanilla and Chocolate Cupcakes with Blue Buttercream Frosting. I ran out of powdered sugar so I couldn't make Orange Buttercream Frosting. So I decided I'd wait to frost until tomorrow when I am also going to make more Mint cupcakes this time with while chocolate ganache and regular ganache.

I have another giant Cookie book but I can't for the life of me find it nor remember the full title. Ah well, it'll show up as it is a very big book, and hardback.

I love the images and colors in The Whimsical Bakehouse but haven't the time nor resources to make a cake like theirs, though their book inspired my sister's birthday cake. Not as homemade as I like or as their cakes are but just as yummy.

New Introduction

Hello once again! So for those of you who don't know me I'm Buhri, the name is closely connected with my real name and has a fun story behind that and it'll come out eventually. For now though, I'm Buhri, I love to bake it's my stress reliever. If asked I am more than happy to bake for someone else and if it's cookies, brownies, or anything else like that I am willing to mail it for a small fee.

Now in case there are any spelling mistakes, it seems my 't' key is sticking. =D Fun fact.

Birthday cake for my 11 year old sister who loves the ocean. Three layers with cupcakes, strawberry, cherry chip, and devil's cake with cherry, strawberry, and blue frosting. Haha, I do mean blue frosting.
